Social Media Digest – Tweet in the Shower, or get your Butler to do it

Social Media Butler

The Madison Hotel in Washington DC has come up with a solution to a problem which until about 20 minutes ago I wasn’t sure was an issue at all. Simply spend $47,000 on a room in the nation’s capital and they will provide you with a social media butler,

Part of a new package to coincide with the swearing in of Obama’s second term in office the hotels digital marketer Victoria Devine will “chronicle your Inaugural experience so your friends and family can follow your adventures on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.”

Victoria goes on to mention that it will be a case of see if anyone actually orders the service, I personally am dubious about any orders happening, I would be very keen to hear about the service if someone does utilise Victoria’s social media talents.

Note: The above picture of a butler is not Victoria.

Sony Xperia Z Waterproof Phone – Tweet from the comfort of your own shower

Sony are claiming that the new Xperia-Z phone can be submerged in up to 3 feet of water for half an hour and it will be avoid any damage, I once dropped my phone down a toilet, safe to say it broke, if I had a Sony Xperia-Z I could have left it in the toilet bowl no problem.

It has other features too:

– 13 megapixels camera
– Built-in App which extends battery life by shutting down non-essential applications.
– Super-fast 4G connection
– Five-inch Full HD 1080p screen.

Oh and just to repeat, it is loo proof for…for 30 minutes.

Facebook Timeline Changes –

Mashable have reported that Facebook Timeline has been changing for some users, a new collections manager option has been added to users in New Zealand allowing them to customise what appears on timeline.

So far these changes do not appear to have come in to force in the UK, it is an interesting new function and I welcome anything which makes Facebook more personable and controllable.  Hopefully we will get these new setting soon.

Not content with confusing us with the Chanel adverts where he doesn’t seem to make much sense, but then perfume adverts never do, Brad has taken to the popular Chinese social media site Sia Weibo to post a cryptic message, he said.

“It is the truth. Yup, I’m coming.”

You can see the account here, make of it what you will.
