Feeling festive at Dakota Deluxe

In celebration of the new festive menu, which will launch in November, we invited local media and influencers to sample the best Christmas fayre that Dakota Deluxe has to offer.

Everyone was welcomed with a glass of fizz and some mingling before going down to the Bar & Grill to enjoy a festive feast.

Each guest had a three-course meal of their choice from the menu and could select from a choice of chicken liver & truffle parfait, smoked salmon blini, salad of heritage tomato or butternut squash & sweet potato soup for starters. Mains included ballotine of Yorkshire turkey, slow cooked beef shoulder, poached salmon filled or pithivier of artichoke. Choices on the dessert menu included, traditional Christmas pudding, dark chocolate and orange delice, glazed lemon tart or a continental cheese selection.

Feedback from the event was glowing and now we can’t wait for the festive season!

Sleeping on the job for Harrison Spinks

To mark National Sleep In Day we worked with Luxury Mattress Manufacturer to look at the nation’s sleep habits and pinpoint the sleepiest town in the UK (Sheffield!). We released the story to the media and pitched interviews with a Harrison Spinks spokesperson and Channel 4’s Sleep Expert, James Wilson to radio stations. The resulting coverage reached over 2.75 million people and included a page 2 piece in The I, and no less than three slots on TalkRadio… Think we deserve a nap now!

Daredevil Trinity Leeds tightrope walk is Light Night Highlight

World-class aerial acrobats performed daring high line performances at Trinity Leeds as part of October’s Light Night festival. With dozens of eye-catching events happening across the city, the daredevil moon walk by Cirque Bijou saw a performer suspended 60 feet high. The cutting-edge live performance, called ‘Moon Beam,’ was set against a stunning light show on the illuminated Trinity Leeds glass dome. It certainly stood out from the crowd and BBC Look North even held a live broadcast from Trinity Leeds – complete with high line performer in the background. Thousands of people attended the event and shared their snaps on social media, and it achieved fantastic coverage across print and online media as well.

A month of Sundays for Matt Healy x The Foundry

Since its opening in May 2018, Matt Healy x The Foundry has firmly made its mark on the Leeds food scene – and has picked up a few awards along the way. The latest is the title of Britain’s Best Roast dinner, part of Unilever’s British Roast Dinner Week. The Foundry beat competition from restaurants, pubs, and hotels across the UK with its roast dinner which includes 12-hour roasted sirloin, roast chicken, Yorkshire puddings, roasted carrots, green beans, roast potatoes, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, and gravy – with vegetarian options available. Umpf communicated the win to regional media, while drooling over pictures of the award-winning Sunday dinner…

Many happy returns for Westgate

Umpf supported the first birthday of Westgate Oxford shopping centre, arranging a day of regional media interviews including ITV Meridian, BBC South, and BBC Radio Oxford. Since opening in October 2017, Westgate Oxford has created 2,000+ full time jobs, diverted 100% of its waste from landfill, and saved 18 tonnes of CO2 thanks to its 50 electrical vehicle charging points. More than 15km of cables and 3k of pipework was used during the build of the centre, which equals 7 football pitches in size.
