Social giants Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube have announced that they would work collectively on a plan to help limit the spread of terrorist content on social media.
The companies plan to create a shared database to identify this type of content, including what they’ve described as the “most extreme and egregious terrorist images and videos” that have already been removed from their channels.

Since Monday, approximately 186,000 people have tuned in to Channel 4’s Facebook Live coverage of The Supreme Court. The live stream showed the court hearing the case about whether Parliament needs to approve the triggering of Article 50 – the mechanism for leaving the EU. This glimpse into the workings of Brexit has been the first time the court’s deliberations have been streamed on social media.
Instagram has recently announced three brand new features to help keep the channel a “positive place for self-expression”.
Comment Control Features include adding a way to turn off comments on any post and the ability to like comments by tapping a heart icon next to any comment. Liking allows users to show support for nice comments, encouraging positivity throughout the community.
Instagram has also included the ability to remove followers from private accounts and a way to anonymously report self-injury posts.

Dedicated tea drinkers have taken to Twitter in outrage as it has been revealed that the leaves used in Yorkshire Tea teabags are not actually grown in Yorkshire!
Despite Yorkshire Tea replying that their tea is grown in a “massive hydroponic tea plantation two miles beneath the surface of Dewsbury”, the brands website states that the leaves are actually harvested from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms – NO WAY.
